Assurance Care Warranty

Truespeed protection plan

A whole year of coverage costs less than one service call.

A service visit bills at $150 an hour per technician. Assurance Care Warranty covers the labour on your covered visits for $7 a month on wired connections, $10 on Rural Wireless Internet, plus HST. Do the math once and it sells itself.

Two prices, one rule

The price follows the connection we look after. Rural Wireless Internet costs more because a rooftop radio is a bigger job than a modem swap. That is the whole rule, and it is the same number that shows on your bill.

$7.00 /mo + HST
Cable, DSL and fibre accounts. Covers the labour on your service visits, end to end: $84 a year, less than a single visit would bill.
Add for $7.00/mo

Month to month. Cancel anytime. First covered visit after 15 days. In Quebec you can also cancel within 10 days of adding it, at no cost.

$10.00 /mo + HST
Rural Wireless Internet accounts, Air Fibre included. Rooftop radios are a bigger job, and the price says so honestly: $120 a year, still under one service call.
Add for $10.00/mo

Month to month. Cancel anytime. First covered visit after 15 days. In Quebec you can also cancel within 10 days of adding it, at no cost.

Air Fibre counts as Rural Wireless.

What you get

Three things, priced against what they would cost you without the plan.

Covered visit labour

When a covered problem needs hands on-site, the technician’s time is on us. No hourly rate, no dispatch fee, no deductible. Visits caused by our own network or equipment never count against your year.

$150/hr value, $0 to you

Priority when it’s busy

When support is busy, your tickets are flagged priority, so you wait less. On a quiet day everyone gets us fast; on a busy one, you still do.

Flagged on every ticket

Unlimited remote help

Phone and remote support don’t count as visits and never run out. Most problems end on the first call, which is why three covered visits goes a long way.

Never counts as a visit

Straight talk on hardware

The plan covers labour. Hardware coverage depends on whose equipment it is, and we would rather you know the rule than find it in fine print.

Renting from us

Covered for as long as you rent

A rented modem, router or radio is our equipment. If it fails, we swap it, full stop, for the life of the rental. That is what renting means, and it pairs with this plan: the hardware is ours to replace and the labour is covered.

Equipment you own

Manufacturer’s warranty

Hardware you purchased carries its manufacturer’s warranty. When a part fails under warranty, the maker replaces the part, and this plan covers the labour to diagnose and swap it, which is the half that normally bills at $150 an hour.

Covered, and not covered

The short honest list. The full terms say the same thing in longer sentences, and our team will walk you through them any time.

Covered

  • Labour on warranty and service-visit incidents, up to 3 visits a year
  • Diagnosis and swap labour when equipment fails under its warranty
  • Unlimited phone and remote troubleshooting
  • Priority handling on every call and ticket
  • Rented Truespeed equipment, replaced for the life of the rental

Not covered

  • Replacement hardware for equipment you own (that is the manufacturer’s warranty)
  • Your own computers, phones, TVs and smart devices
  • Damage from renovations, floods, fire or lightning
  • The first 15 days after enrolment (remote support works from day one)

When something breaks

1

Call or message us

Phone, ticket or the contact page. Your request is flagged priority the moment it lands.

2

We fix most things remotely

Unlimited, and it never uses up a visit. Most problems end here.

3

If it takes a truck, the labour is covered

A technician comes out and the hours that would have billed at $150 each cost you nothing.

Your warranties in Quebec

Quebec law gives you a free legal warranty on goods you buy or lease, and we are required to remind you of it before you buy anything extra:

The Act provides a warranty on the goods you purchase or lease: they must be usable for normal use for a reasonable length of time.

Equipment carries its manufacturer’s warranty; ask us and we will tell you what it covers and for how long. If you add this plan and change your mind, you can cancel within 10 days at no cost, and any time after that without penalty. Print or save this page for your records.

Questions people actually ask

What does it cost?

$7 a month on wired connections (cable, DSL, fibre) and $10 on Rural Wireless Internet, Air Fibre included, plus HST. It shows as its own line on your regular Truespeed bill. A year of it costs less than one service call would.

What exactly is covered?

The labour. On-site technician time normally bills at $150 an hour; on a covered visit it costs you nothing, up to 3 visits a year. Phone and remote support are unlimited and don’t count as visits. Hardware itself follows its own rule: rented equipment is replaced by us for as long as you rent it, and equipment you own carries its manufacturer’s warranty, with this plan covering the labour to diagnose and swap a failed part.

What counts as a visit?

A truck roll for a covered problem: your connection, your Truespeed-supplied or rented equipment, or a warranty failure on equipment we sold you. If the fault turns out to be on our side of the network, the visit is free anyway and doesn’t touch your 3.

Is there a contract or a waiting period?

No term contract: it is month to month and you can cancel anytime with a phone call. There is one honest waiting rule: your first covered visit becomes available 15 days after you enrol. Remote support starts day one. In Quebec you can also cancel within 10 days of adding the plan at no cost.

How does the 3-months-free promotion work?

It is a signup promotion: enrol for the first time and the plan is free for your first 3 months, whoever you are, new customer or long-time subscriber. Before the free period ends we remind you, and you can keep it or drop it with one click, no charge either way. One free trial per account, and like any promotion it can change for future signups without affecting yours.

Why is Rural Wireless more?

Because the equipment is. A rooftop radio takes a ladder, alignment and weatherproofing; a cable modem takes a screwdriver. $10 against $7 reflects the real difference in the work, and both are still under the cost of a single visit per year.

How do I add it, and how do I cancel?

Call (613) 865-7733 or (844) 716-7733, or send us a message from the contact page, and it is on your account the same day. Cancelling is the same phone call, it comes off your next invoice, and there is no fee for leaving.

What happens if I use more than 3 visits?

Visits beyond your 3 bill at standard rates. Honestly, almost nobody gets there: remote support resolves most problems, and faults on our side never count.
