I want to speak to you directly and honestly about the transition notice many of you have recently received. That is the only way I know how to do things.
This was perhaps the single most consequential decision I have ever had to make. Truespeed has been my life’s work. I have spent the best part of my career building this company from the ground up, and every customer who trusted us with their service became, in many ways, part of our family. I can sincerely say that making a change like this doesn’t come without heartache on my end, too.
So why did I do it? I looked honestly at what the large telecom incumbents are doing in our communities. I see a laundry list of dirty tricks and aggressive offers loaded with fine print, targeting the very people who depend on providers like us. I asked myself, honestly, whether staying small was still the best way to protect them. The answer I came up with was no. Altima Telecom has the resources and the network to offer you things I simply could not on my own. I made this decision for those who are leaving, for those who are staying, and for our community. I did not do this for me.
I also want to be clear about something important. Not everyone is leaving. If you are a Truespeed wireless, web hosting, IT managed services, dial-up, or fibre customer, you are staying right here with us. This transition affects one part of what we do, not all of it.
For everyone who is staying, and for those in our communities who may one day come back, I want you to know what is ahead. I am heavily reinvesting in this business. That means better infrastructure, more reliable service, and a Truespeed that is built to last and built to grow. I have never been more focused on what this company can become, and I genuinely believe the best version of Truespeed is still ahead of us.
I am not going anywhere. Truespeed is not going anywhere. In fact, we’re planning on expansion. This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a chapter. And the next one is one I am genuinely excited to write, for the customers staying with us and for the communities that have supported us from the very beginning.
