  • What is TrueHome Phone Service?

TRUEPhone service uses IP telephony technology to route your phone calls over the internet, eliminating the need for expensive analog phone lines. As the calls are natively HD digital (unless analog phones are used), static resulting in poor call quality is now a thing of the past.

  • What is required to use the TruePhone Service?

We recommend the use of IP compatible telephone sets with our IP telephone service for best results and we have a wide selection of feature rich and inexpensive HD Digital telephone options in stock. For those who would rather keep their old analog phones, a small device called an analog telephone adapter (ATA) can be used to do so. Truespeed’s TruePhone telephone service requires a working internet connection to function.

  • Is there a contract?

Nope! We are not a fan of contracts so there’s no way we are going to force one on you. You are welcome to cancel with a billing cycle’s notice any time but with our low pricing and excellent sound quality, we’re betting you won’t.

  • Do you offer a discount if I bundle your internet with the TruePhone service?

Absolutely! Our lowest price includes a $5 bundle discount on each package when bundled with one of our internet services. While you are welcome to purchase the phone service separately, we can’t guarantee the reliability of the service due to the variance in the quality of internet connections out there.

  • Does TruePhone have limitations in comparison to a conventional phone service?

Truespeed’s TruePhone service requires an internet connection to function. If your internet service is offline due to an outage, power failure or other interruption, our phone service including 9-1-1 access will not work. Adding a power bar with UPS functionality to your internet and phone service is always a good idea as it can allow continued function in the event of a power outage.

  • What makes TruePhone the better choice for phone service?

Honestly, there’s a lot of reasons but here are a few:
For starters, TruePhone packages are significantly less expensive than the big guys.
TruePhone is feature rich – All of our packages include every phone feature we offer at no extra cost including some really cool options the telcos don’t even offer!
TruePhone is mobile. We can link your home service to your cell phone for the ultimate in mobility. If you’re travelling, you can simply take your IP phone or ATA with you for local service wherever you go, with all you need being access to the internet.
We do all the work for you – TruePhone as a service is basically plug and play as we automatically have the equipment provision as soon as you plug it into your internet connection. While we have detailed instructions available to help even the most tech-fearing individuals, we also have discounted home service calls to ensure you have options that suite your needs to ensure an effortless transition.

  • What do I need to know about e9-1-1 emergency service?

We pride ourselves in offering the best 9-1-1 service available over IP telephony but as with all TruePhone services, it requires an operational internet connection to function.
It is very important that your address is correct when you register for our service to ensure that an emergency agent can most efficiently send assistance to the correct location.
An operator will confirm your location and will quickly transfer you to the local agency to continue to meet your needs.
In the event that a caller cannot speak or communicate effectively, the agent will direct assistance to the address you registered on signup. It is extremely important to keep that address up to date with Truespeed in the event of a move.
As with any 9-1-1 call, it’s imperative to stay on the line until instructed to hang up. If you get disconnected for any reason, call back immediately.

  • Does TruePhone require Bell or any other telephone provider’s services to function?

No. Our service only requires an internet connection and does not require any other phone company’s phone lines or facilities to operate. That means that the low price we charge is the only bill you will receive for your phone service.

  • Can I keep my existing phone number?

Absolutely! All we need is a copy of your existing phone bill to provide proof that you are porting you over to our service. Cell phone numbers as well as toll free numbers can also be ported. Are you moving into a different area code or exchange? With TruePhone, you can still use your original number anywhere in the world!

  • What kind of quality can I expect from TruePhone Service?

We offer inexpensive wired and wireless digital phones that eliminate analog static and transmit in an HD format that offers better voice quality than your existing service. Using your existing analog phone equipment the voice quality will be comparable to a conventional phone service. Analog phones can be made to work over IP with the use of an ATA, their analog nature will be the limiting factor related to voice quality over our network.
